Where I Grew Up

Grand Anse Mahe, where I was born and raised. Grand Anse Mahe was well known as an agricultural place in the 70s onward, it was named Grand Anse Experimental and Food Production Centre, the place where local fruits of all kinds were in abundance, vegetables, sweet potatoes, yam, cassavas and many more was never unavailable. Growing up among all those including cows, pigs, and chickens, drinking fresh milk every day

Spending memorable moments with families and friends on the most beautiful beach on earth.
Sitting on the white sandy beach watching the sunset makes my childhood most ever wonderful as well as living at Grand Anse Mahe.

Grand Anse Mahe. The place where I belong

Grand Anse Mahe, the Agricultural Experimental and Food Production Centre, is where I started my career in the government of Seychelles in August 1972 and the age of 16 years old in the office of the farm manager as a clerk.

After 1977 Grand Anse Mahe became an electoral district merging Barbaron, La Misere and Beoliere. Of late there have been many changes.

I joined the world of work before that. At a very tender age of 14 years old, I started as an apprentice motor mechanic at a private garage then moved on to marine mechanic at the Union Litherage Company (ULC) that’s where I learned to use different kinds of equipment and tools. However, life was very hard, I was paid an allowance of SR 30.00 per month, and I paid SR 25.00 for transport per month to go to work, so my parents had to sustain me I could not keep up like this I had to look for something better, so, with the help of my parents, I was so blessed to be allowed to join the Seychelles government, that is where I started my career until September 30th, 2021.
